Tundra's intelligent strength starts under the hood, with two powerful and efficient engines to choose from. The 24-valve Dual Overhead Cam V6 engine is chain driven and features Dual VVT-i. With a water-cooled intercooler, this highly efficient twin-turbo 3.5 litre V6 actually improves on the outgoing V8 engine in every way, producing 389 horsepower and 479 lb.ft. of torque. With the i-FORCE MAX hybrid engine (available spring 2022), performance improves to 437 horsepower and a whopping 583 lb.ft. of torque. Both configurations are mated to a new 10-speed Direct Shift Automatic Transmission. The result? Extraordinary towing, hauling, and driving performance with unheard of fuel economy.

Tundra's improved suspension enhances fuel efficiency and ride comfort, not to mention performance and handling. The redesigned double wishbone front suspension offers straight-line stability that maintains better tire contact on the road at all times, while the Adaptive Variable Suspension adjusts damping force based on changing road conditions. The new Multi-Link Rear Suspension ditches leaf springs in favour of coil springs for a smoother on-and off-road experience and much improved handling.

The available Locking Rear Differential distributes engine power evenly to both rear wheels so they move at the same speed, providing more grip in low-traction conditions such as mud, ice, or snow.

For maximum off-road performance, TRD PRO grades are fitted with 2.5-inch diameter FOX™ internal bypass shocks that provide position sensitive dampening and improved comfort on uneven terrain.

Multi-Terrain Select offers adjustable settings to help control wheel-spin on a variety of terrain. Crawl Control functions as a low-speed, off-road cruise control that allows the driver to focus on steering while it maintains one of five selectable speeds. Downhill Assist Control is another off-road feature that helps the driver navigate tricky slopes by limiting the speed of the vehicle during descent.

Tundra features your choice of two outstanding four-door options. The Double Cab models are available in a 6.5-foot bed and an 8.1-foot bed, while the CrewMax models are available in a 5.5-foot bed and a 6.5-foot bed.

The stronger, stiffer frame structure is an example of Tundra's innovative thinking, creating a full-size pickup that you can always depend on. The redesigned high-strength fully boxed steel-ladder frame was widened in the rear to improve stability, towing capability, ride comfort, and handling dynamics.

The truck bed is made from a new Sheet-Moulded Compound construction that is both lightweight and extremely strong to protect against dents, impact dings, and rust, as compared with traditional steel decks.

The tailgate uses lightweight construction techniques to reduce weight by 20 percent compared with the outgoing model. Trailer Backup Guidance provides multiple camera views to aid in maneuvering trailers with confidence and ease. When Straight Path Assist is activated, the system takes over steering inputs and automatically keeps the trailer in a straight line while backing up.

With cameras situated in the front, side, rear, hitch, and bed, Tundra provides a 360-degree view to keep an eye on your surroundings and tough-to-see areas around the truck and trailer.

The available Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert uses radar technology to help identify vehicles that may not be visible when changing lanes or backing out of a parking space. When a vehicle is detected, a warning indicator illuminates on the appropriate side view mirror.
